In this lesson, we will learn how to arrange cells that contain a specific type of information from among a large group of cells that contain different types of numbers, names, etc.
If we receive an unorganized file, which includes a group of numbers and numbered names.
To arrange this file, we will follow the following steps:
First: Arrange the cells of names only
1- First, we click on the letter of the column, then select the entire column, and then choose the option “Find & Select” from the toolbar and from “Home”.
2- Then we choose “Go to Special”.
3- We choose “Constants” and since we want to arrange the names only in the first step, we select “Text” and cancel all other selections.
4- We choose “OK” and we notice that Excel has selected the names only.
5- By copying and then pasting, we can get the names only.
Second: Arrange the number cells only
6- First, we select the table again.
7- Second, from the toolbar and from “Home” the option “Find & Select”.
8- Then we choose “Go to Special”.
9- After that we choose “Constants” and since we want to arrange the numbers this time, we will select “Numbers” in addition to canceling all other selections.
10- We choose “OK” and we notice that Excel has selected the numbers only.
11- Then through the “Copy” and then “Past” operations we can get the numbers only.
