Convert distance units in Excel

In this lesson, we will learn how to convert distance units in Excel.

Suppose we have a number that represents a certain distance, and we want to convert the mathematical unit of distance from one to another.

a number of distance

To convert between distance units, we will follow the following steps:

1- In a new cell, we write the function for converting distance units “CONVERT(=”.

"CONVERT(="

2- We select the cell that contains the number whose unit we will convert the distance.

select the cell with the number of distance

3- We write a comma “; ” and then write the unit we will convert from, which is here “km”.

convert distance in "km"

4- We write a comma “; ” and then write the unit we will convert to, which is here “m”.

convert distance to "m"

5- We close the bracket and press “Enter” from the keyboard

press "Enter"

We can repeat the same process for centimeter:

1- In a new cell, we write the function “CONVERT(=”.

 "CONVERT(="

2- We select the cell that contains the number whose unit we will convert the distance.

select the cell

3- We write a comma “; ” and then write the unit we will convert from, which is here “m”.

convert distance from "m"

4- We write a comma “; ” and then write the unit we will convert to, which is here “cm”.

convert distance to "cm"

5- We close the bracket and press “Enter” from the keyboard

 "Enter"
