How to Browse the Web in Split Screen

1-   Using Snap Assist

Open your favorite web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge). Click and hold the title bar of the first browser window. Then drag it to the left or right edge of the screen until it fills half the screen. Release the window, and it will stay in its new location. Open a second browser window and repeat the process on the other side of the screen.

2-   Keyboard shortcuts

Open your web browser, and use your keyboard to control the browser. Press the Windows key and the left arrow key to snap the browser window to the left side of the screen. Press the Windows key and the right arrow key to snap the browser to the right side of the screen. Then press the Windows key and the up arrow key, and the browser will return to normal. Open another browser window and repeat the process to snap it to the other side.

1-   Mission Control

Open your web browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox)

Enter Mission Control by swiping up with three fingers on your trackpad or pressing the Mission Control (F3) key on your keyboard.

Drag the browser window to the top of the screen until a new desktop space is created.

Then open another browser window in the new desktop space, and both windows will appear side by side.

2-   Full screen and spaces

Open your web browser, then click and hold the full-screen button (the green button) in the upper-left corner of the browser window. Choose “Tile window to left of screen” or “Tile window to right of screen.” Then open another browser window and repeat the process to tile it on the other side.

Click and hold the “Maximize window” button (between the minimize and close buttons) in the upper-right corner of the browser window. Select either “Dock on left” or “Dock on right” and then open a second browser window and repeat the process to dock on the other side.
